Happy Friday! I was moved today to post encouragement that spoke to us exactly where we are…exhausted! In the Houston area, the number of Covid cases are on the rise, and the governor has closed restaurants and bars; our county and our surrounding counties are requiring masks and pretty much ordering us to stay at home!
I personally have no problem staying at home. I actually LOVE my home, and I’m a rare one who LOVES her husband working from home. (He has worked from home for the good part of a year now.) The challenge comes in our desperate need for community! We have to work a bit harder to connect!
Yesterday, I had two calls with three different dear friends, talked to my son at length on the phone, and I attended an online Q&A session. By the end of the day, I was worn out! But I wouldn’t change what I did. I LOVE those gals and my son. We needed that connection.
Today, we need to hear there is HOPE and a place for those of us who are weary. I was searching through our site, I’ll Take Jesus, and I found a blog post from last year I want to share over here. It is so applicable today! Here you GO:
As I started to think of what to share with you today, I was reminded of some great blog posts that I’ve read on the subject of Jesus’ light burden.
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Are you tired? Heavy-burdened? Need rest for your soul? Read these posts for inspiration and a breath of rest:
- “I can do it myself!” – Dependency. It’s a good thing! ~I’ll Take Jesus
- “Why is it so hard to trust in Jesus?” Find out here! ~Heartlight
- “He does all the work and gives us all the rest.” ~Desiring God
- The greatest demonstration of power as seen through weakness ~Crossway
- Be still, cease striving, and rest in the Lord. ~I’ll Take Jesus
When you need some rest (like I do right now!), take some time and sit in these blog posts. Some are long, some are short, but they all speak of the beautiful promise of taking on the light burden of Christ and resting in Him.
Have a wonderful weekend!! and don’t forget to wear your mask!!
Blessings,
Wonderful thoughts for us all. Thanks, Sally.
Thanks, Mom! 😍
