What is inspiring you this week? Doesn’t it feel like a new week after Easter? A new time? A fresh start! Mondays feel like that anyway, although I’ll admit this morning, Monday felt pretty rough! I had what I call Holy Week Jet Lag. It was crazy. But after a couple of cups of java juice, I was good! 🙂
I wanted to share with you what inspired me this past week and weekend. Mr Gorgeous and I spent the week in Nashville to see our son’s first show. His name was in lights!!!
It was an awesome show!! (You can see more pics from that on my IG acct.) I wanted a fun way to let my family know where we were when we were driving to and from Nashville, so Liam came with us.
Sheep are always fun to have around.
When we got home, it was time to prepare for Holy Week services. And for our big Easter family dinner. At our Easter morning service, we had an amazing experience releasing butterflies after the service.
The butterflies were in a fridge to “hibernate” until a bit before we released them. When we opened our envelopes some were already awake and some took a moment. But there was a sweet moment where there were butterflies flying all around us…just gorgeous.
You can see this gorgeous painted lady on Emma’s dress. (above)
Mr Gorgeous had his land on his finger!!! (above) And mine landed on my dress!! (below)
I think it liked my Alison Glass fabric!! I know I do!
Then we took family pictures.
It’s always at this point that I really miss my other kids. I’m sure they could feel that, because they sent me their Easter pics. I’m posting them here without even asking!! eeeek! But look how gorgeous my kids are (above and below!!):
My oldest and her husband
My son and his girlfriend
I just had to post this here for my children. They think we love Eli more than them. But I did put their pics first! LOL!!
After playing another service on Easter afternoon, we gathered for our Easter dinner at my mom’s house. It was a beautiful time with friends and family. We celebrated my brother’s and our friend Karen’s birthdays by singing and eating cake:
I made this from scratch using these recipes:
I made the cake topper with my Cricut Maker!! It’s a project on Cricut Design Space. So fun!!!
Btw, I’m always inspired by a good tasting cake! And this one is extremely good tasting. LOL!!
My friend gave me this sweet posable bunny card. So I took a pic last night of it next to a bunny that my father carved many years ago. He loved woodworking. So inspiring to see his creative bent on the beautiful Easter table my mom set. (Her signature is fun candy to decorate the table. The table is beautiful for a bit…then I become a bit fatter! LOLOLOL!!)
Something I’ve been remembering this whole week: Embrace every moment. Even the moments when things hurt (I had a near-migraine while in Nashville)…Even the moments that go by so quickly (Like the 10 minutes Lil and I spent in the buttercup field – we call them buttercups anyway!)…Embrace them. Make a mental note. Make a physical note. Paint the scene in your head later. Paint it on paper.
As we embrace life, we capture more joy. And that joy spreads…just like the butterflies flying out of those purple envelopes. So beautiful!
What are you inspired by today? Where are you finding joy?
Blessings,
