Happy Wednesday!!!
For my first handmade outfit share this year, I’ve picked my Contrast Panel Deer Tunic.
The pattern I used for this is Alison Glass/Karen LePage’s Woven Essentials Pattern.
I created this tunic with fun fabric called Moonshine (designed by Tula Pink) and Art Gallery Denim. I used contrasting half yards of Alison Glass olive and charcoal Chroma fabric for the bodice.
One thing I learned making this pattern is that a gathered skirt doesn’t feel good on me. I had it gathered and then wore it a few weeks. I felt frumpy and unkempt. So, I stretched out the front of the skirt and created gathers (mini pleats) in the back. It feels better, and as I’ve gained weight, the fit is good!
As I get healthier, one thing I need to learn is how to take in clothes. Or I need to sew faster!! 🙂 and take more bags of clothes to Goodwill.
What do you think? Do you take in clothes that are too big? Or do you give them away and make new ones?
Btw, how about that top bun???
Blessings,
