What is one of the most loving things you can make for someone?
A quilt, right?
And what are quilts made of?
Quilt Blocks!!
Welcome to my 7 Days of Crafting LOVE – Day Five
Today I want to just share some fun block projects that are going on right now on the interwebs!!
First of all, I’m part of a quilting bee called the Super Awesome Quilt Bee. You’ve heard of it here since this is my second year to do it. I learned a LOT doing this swap last year, and I’m excited to be ON TIME with my blocks and learn new techniques!!
This is Kate’s January block. Paper piecing…a perennial favorite.
And Jodi’s February block!! Both blocks are with their owners!! Yay!!
On IG, there is a hashtag called #cookbookquiltalong.
This is Amy Gibson’s new book The Quilt Block Cookbook, and the blocks are wonderful!!!

We are doing one block a week! I usually do them on the weekend. Here are my first five.
I’m using Janet Clare’s Wordsmith fabric (I bought a 10″ layer cake a while back!). When I run out of that, I’ll make a quilt!! Then I’ll continue with another line!
I’m also doing Julie’s BOM Urbanologie by the Sew Kind of Wonderful gals!! Here’s my first set of blocks…the Birdies…
And yet another idea for a fun SewAlong to join in on is Maureen Cracknell and Sharon Holland’s Sewcial Bee Sample Quilt Along! I hope to join in in a few weeks after I finish some of my major projects this month! But here is a sample of the first block from my darling friend Brooke:
So beautiful!!!
I love the idea that you can create a quilt by just making one block at a time…no pressure to make the entire quilt at once!! And the communities created by these quilt alongs also appeal to the social side of me. Just like our grannies old fashioned quilt bees, we too can make long lasting friendships while creating the perfect gift for our loves!!!
What quilt block patterns do you love?

Blessings and Love!
Do you have a template for the You are Loved block shown in the picture of patchwork? I love your script (my handwriting is not as pretty . . .) and would like to use it as part of a patchwork pillow I want to make for my granddaughter. Thank you!
The fabric is so pretty. Any of the blocks would make a stunning quilt.
Thanks, mama!!!! 🙂
