One of my biggest goals of this year is to finish a LOT of stuff!!!! I have many UFOs (unfinished objects) that I just need to finish!
Here is one of my fun finishes thanks to my time at Quilt Your Own and my new found love of long arm quilting!
My darling vocal coach (who I call my therapist!! :)), Susan just had a birthday! When I remembered her birthday was coming up, I decided to give her a finished quilt!!!
I love this one!! It’s bright and sunshiny and full of life like my friend Susan!! She brings out the best in me, and I think this pattern and quilting brings out the best of these fabrics!
I used some Amy Butler fabrics that I got at the very first QuiltCon!!! And I used a pattern from Amy Ellis‘s book Modern Basics. It’s called Basic Ease. It is awesome for big print fabrics!!
I did really big meandering stitching all around to match the big patterned fabric! I love the stitch regulator on the long arm machine more than anything!!!!!! Ohhhh where is my money tree???? LOL!!
A special thank you to my little one for holding the quilt! (she has her penguin earphones on!!)
I’m so excited to have finished this top!! And I’m even more excited that it went to someone that I love!!
Lest you think I’m really moving fast, here’s a sneaky peek at my design board:
Sigh…long term projects!! 🙂
