Welcome to my part of the Story!
I'm so blessed to be a part of this awesome group of people who created with Carrie Bloomston's new fabric line for Windham Fabrics called Story! (click to see her awesome LookBook for STORY!)
My story always revolves around my family, faith, and my home!
This is my new Welcome banner called Rooted in a Love Story!
When Carrie sent me this fabulous fabric, the house theme really spoke to me. So, I went outside and took a picture of our house…
Then I drew it on graph paper (kinda!) and figured out how to keep it simple but still maintain the look of our home.
So…there's my house…
but what's my story?
We welcome you with open arms into our home!
I used a technique that I learned by making Carrie's Watercolor Quilt. I cut bias small strips of her pink fabric and zigzagged it into the word "Welcome"!
The tree in my banner tells the deepest part of my story.
The words inside and next to the tree describe my life…but even more importantly are the roots that grow down underneath our house.
While working on this quilt, I was studying Ephesians in the Bible, and I came upon this scripture:
"..and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." Eph 3:17-19
Rooted and grounded…
…in love!
That is how I want my house to be. I want to understand that I really won't understand how amazing (and wide and deep and long) Christ's love is for me, but I can live with it as my complete foundation!
…thus the love on my welcome banner!!
This weekend, I will have two new free patterns up including this one!! Check back here for sure for those!
I love Carrie's inspirational fabrics and her encouragement through her words in her blog, her FB page and her new book, The Little Spark–30 Ways to Ignite Your Creativity.! She always sparks a light inside me that gets me to creatin'!
And she is being super generous this week and offering three free bundles of Story fabrics and one of her books!!
Go here to this post and leave a comment to be entered to win! And be sure to check out the other stories…and just prepare yourself to be inspired!
Blessings!!
What fun! Did you draw the design first or just have it in your head?
So you! LOVE it!
Your welcome sign makes me smile!! Love it, so bright and cheerful!!
