First of all, Random.org chose a winner for the Christmas in July Blog Hop!!!
and #8 is Vicki H!!! Vicki, check your email! ♥
For my finish today, I whipped up 30 mug rugs! I really cut 42, but I only bound 30!! And it took me a little bit to bind them…
So, after a Hobbit marathon, several other movies and tv shows (and a lot of checking FB and IG in between each mug rug!!!), I got these cutie suckers all done!!
I'll post a picture of the finished luncheon table with all of the mug rugs when someone texts me with it (hint hint)!! LOL!!
Here's what I learned doing these:
- I LOVED the process of creating a bunch of mug rugs at once!
- I LOVED practicing my FMQ (free motion quilting).
- I WISHED I had gone to my darling friend, Becca's mini workshop on machine binding which is coming up at our August HMQG meeting (for locals, it's August 16th from 1-4pm!!)!!! Those little mug rugs took a bit too long to bind by hand…BUT remember, I love to bind!! ♥
- I WISHED I had more hours in the day to make more and more mug rugs!!
I'm off to make some cute pin cushions!! and a couple of quilt tops!! and perhaps a few borders on my Marcelle Medallion Quilt!!
Happy August! And in honor of my fun birthday month, I have a couple of surprises to share with you on Sunday! Join me right here on Sunday! and sign up for my newsletter, because a new giftie is going out on Monday!!! yay! I love new…
I'm linking with crazy mom quilts finish it up friday…
Blessings!!!
Woah! Impressive effort with that many mug rugs! Well done!
Thanks, Jenny!! It was a wonderful experience!!! ♥
Whew! Lots of work, great job! Can you tell me who makes that little fluffy sheep?
I find it harder to do the binding on small item like this, because there’s just not the room to have lots of overhang to join the ends.
Hi Cindy! Thanks!!! Here’s a link to Just Another Button Company’s kits where you can get the sheep!! ♥ http://justanotherbuttoncompany.com/product-category/kits/
I certainly tried it a bunch of fun different ways while binding those little suckers! ♥
