{my boy took this while he was in my craft studio looking for a stapler! rogue child with major photography skills!!}
A few weeks ago, I got to enjoy our annual Women's Friendship Brunch at my mother's church! Mom and I usually get a table to decorate in any way we want. Mom invites 6 other girlies (plus me!) and we eat and enjoy a wonderfully inspirational speaker!
This year was no different! Mom picked a blue and white theme to go with her beautiful china, Weatherly by Lenox.
So, I made the tablecloth and the placemats. We bought the napkins from Target! So fun!
We went to Crate and Barrel looking for juice glasses, and we found these beautiful bird placecard holders!
This was our gift to everyone at the table! I'm thinking about using mine for scripture memory!! a verse a week!! or two…LOL!!
I stamped on the placemats with pigment ink, and I used bias binding to bind them all up!!
Super fun!!!
And now, to let you know how I made the tablecloth!
First of all, it's super easy!! Sometimes it helps us to make something like this to have some simple instructions written out, right?
So start with 4 yards of fabric. Cut it in half (or buy 2 two yard cuts!). Put the two pieces together by matching selvedge edges together.
You are basically making a quilt backing! ๐
Sew 3/8" inside of the selvedge.
Using pinking shears, cut that selvedge right off! ๐
Press your seam open! (Looks better, especially with lighter fabric! :))
On each of the sides of the fabric, fold the edge in one inch and iron it down. Fold the raw edge into the fold creating a 1/2" inch hem!
Sew 1/4" from the left edge of the fold!
Do this all the way around! And you have your tablecloth!!
Ohhhh it's fun to do … creating beautiful tablescapes!!
What are you creating this week??? I've got several secret deadlines going that I'll be able to reveal super soon!!! yay!!!
Happy wonderful faith-filled week!!!
Blessings!
very pretty! tablecloths are on “to do” list.
