I'm super happy today! It's our second week of school, and we are ready to conquer the world!!!

See my sweet little lamby above? My darling friend Beth had it in her stash and thought of me…yep, lambies are my fave!!

The fabric inside and the encouraging card came from my sweet new instagram #mugswap2013 bestie, Amanda!! She sent me this mug:

It was handmade by her momma!!! Soooooo amazing!!! I keep washing it and drinking lots of coffee out of it! eeek!!! Read more about the #mugswap2013 on A Cuppa Kim's blog! But the one really fun thing we did this weekend was go to a baby shower for my sweet friend, Laura! 

When looking for something fun and crafty and very BOY to give to Laura and her sweet baby boy, I found a fun little onesie in my stash of gifts and came up with a fun little embellishment:

Using this clip art HERE by clker, I cut out a fun bowtie out of this fabulous fabric (Domestic Bliss by Liz Scott from Moda) and appliqued it onto the onesie!

Isn't it darling? I used tear-away stabilizer inside the onesie while zigzagging and straight stitching around the bowtie!! Also, I used a glue stick to attach the bowtie to the onesie, so that when she washes it, the glue washes out and the bowtie remains soft – as opposed to using interfacing or fusible web which could make it stiffer!

She (and he!!!!) loved it!!!

And I whipped up some fun thank you cards for her, too!

And instead of games at the shower, we had a place where we could write our favorite bible verse to encourage Laura through these last few weeks of her pregnancy and thoughout her new baby months!!

I made these pages on which each person could write their fave scriptures.

Here's the scripture I wrote for her little book:

“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,
But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you,
And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,”
Says the Lord who has compassion on you.  Is 54:10

I love that!!! He has compassion on us!! yay!! hope-filled, for sure!

isn't this the cutest?? My sister-in-law whipped that up!! sooooo fun! (and healthy!!)

All in all, it was a very creative and fun weekend!!

I'm still creating every day…it's just harder to blog about it with school starting last week. But, never fear, now I'm back to creating outloud again! yay! :)
